Casino Fuel Pawnshop's Growth

Pawnshops side by side in Singapore

Pawnshop is a lesser evil to the payday loan firm. They fuel gambling addiction. Being fueled to reach the status of a financial powerhouse, many will bow to it like they bowed to the casino.

This article studies the success of pawnshops. Unfortunately pawnshops had been flourishing if there is a nearby casino in their vicinity.

All the public did was stand in awe in admiration of their progress when these firms become public listed companies. Nobody would stop to question that they had thrived on the ill fortune of others. The public did the same with the casino and now they are doing the same for pawnshop without realizing it was blood money that gave pawnshop their status.

Ban on Advantage Players Abused

William Hill Bans Gambler

With Ben Affleck banned card counting and Phil Ivey sued for edge sorting, advantage players are getting the spotlight. With another two gaming companies banning gamblers, the casino's cowardice is starting to show.

William Hill, a bookmaker in UK, banned John Harrison from all their outlets in the country based on the "review of trading arrangements". Their spokesman had put forth a weak excuse to justify the ban on Harrison.

The Palms Resort & Casino closed their doors to Dana White by reducing his limit from $25,000 a hand to $5,000. This happened because White swipe about $2 million off the casino. White declares that he is not a card counter.

Guerrilla Gambler had taken the two cases to predict the emerging trend of casinos banning gamblers on his blog. I examined the impact of this trend on my website.

Rewriting Gambling Tales

gambling tales logo

After running XingCai Gambling Tales for a year, I had rewritten the home page. It highlights my current stand on gambling and the new challenges in commenting on gambling stories. Here is the link.

In view of the changing conditions, I am always tempted to change the name to "Classic Gambling Tales". By changing the url, there will be a lot of broken links and it would be best to keep it as it was. Perhaps, I would just change the logo picture and the banner.
